Anyone thought of using the Duplicolor chrome spray paint? Does that stuff work very well?

I don't know, you may have to use primer with that type of paint. The paint I used was specifically for plastic/vinyl so it adheres well to the surface. Still holding up perfectly with repeated dirt/cleanings as of today! No chips or peels.

I am expecting my 08 detonator yellow X in this week. I think this idea looks great and want to do it to mine. If I get the paint from the dealer do I have to use primer then paint and put clear coat on it or just paint it. I have never done this before and want to do the right thing so it doesn't flake off.

If you clean the vents with rubbing alcohol and use a primer, the paint should stick pretty well.

Also russredx, did you get that paint from the dealer? Did you prime first as well?
