3. This will unlock the vents and they will slide right out.
4. Use a small screwdriver to remove the vent bezel (lift four small "tabs")
5. Apply 3-4 thin coats of paint.
6. Dry, and you are done. Snap the bezels back in place and put the vents back in.

The paint looks great, very even and if you clean the plastic thoroughly, it will stick well.

I did basically the same thing to my now sold 2007 Chevy Diesel. Instead of using this method however, I painted some things on the dash by using Plasti Dip. When I got tired of looking at the color, I simply peeled it off.

Great stuff guys!

Just wondering if the paint is holding up well? Can you still use armour-all to clean the painted surfaces? Any fading, chipping, flaking? I want to do all my vents and the centre piece sides and the whole console between the seats. But am worried about how it will hold up. Also can i use KRYLON paint only or do i need to use other products such as primer, adhesive helper? I really like the black paint approach i saw earlier! I hate the grey crap in my jeep!!! lol

Love this forum!!!

Krylon will work directly on the surface. I work for the paint company that owns them (Sherwin-Williams). I work with paint all day and use Krylon directly to plastic all the time.

Painted interior pieces and wheels red to match, and added seat covers with red piping. I just had a River Raider sport cage installed, also painted red to match, but don't have pics yet... maybe I'll snap a few later today.

Do the door strips that look like they're only held on with a hex bolt come off easily?
