Finally got around to doing this mod. I tried in vain to find the dupli-color in silver. Canadian Tire here in Vancouver had every colour but silver. I was just about to forget about the mod when I stumbled through the home painting section and found the Krylon brand of paints and their silver metallic for crafts etc. It is almost an identical match for my factory painted silver instrument cluster for anyone who is looking to match that.
$6.99 at Canadian Tire. 3 coats.. not sure about the durability but time will tell.
Here are some photos in different steps. I tried to get a good shot of the factory painted instrument cluster with the home painted vent for comparison but the light is a little crappy.

I've been thinking about how to dress up my dash since I bought my jeep 2 weeks ago. I saw online you can buy all these accent pieces in silver but their a lil pricey. I just read all 49 pages of this thread and love the idea and everyone's pics. I have a silver JK and think I will do a combination of silver and gloss black. I'll be sure to post pics when I get started. I can't wait to start customizing my JK! Thanks for the all the great ideas
Let me know and we can skip me painting mine black and you painting yours silver!

If anyone near northern Virginia is contemplating this or wants to swap their dark grey vents for bright silver, please hit me up. I'm looking to swap my bright ones for the darker grey like a Sport would have. Thanks 4 door is best so we an swap the door trims too.

BTW. Really like your set up, saw some pics of yours a while back, that's how I sold the wife on a future lift, tires and wheels.
