I had the same sparkly result, so I changed it
So I painted my vents, and im either color blind or the cap of the paint was wrong. anyway they cameout like this:

Honestly does this look gay or is it alright? idk if i like the sparkle-ness i may re paint them to match the tan accents on the side of the radio

I bought the color the OP wrote about. It was way too "sparkly" for my taste. I liked the metallic theme, but instead of using the DupliColor shades, I found a Rustoleum "Specialty Appliance Epoxy" spray in #7887 Stainless Steel (at Lowes). It is very durable and goes much better with the interior - no sparkle or bling look.

did the flame red, i still need to pull the gauge cluster but you cant do everything at once or you'd have nothing to do later!

This thread has some great info!! Thanks! Finally got a nice day and am painting the rings around my a/c vents and the trim pieces on the inside of my doors! So far looking good, just waiting on everything to dry then gonna get her put back together
