I know due this forum how to remove my cluster but can one remove the silver trim ring behind the clear plexi ? I would like to get rid of all the silver except the silver around the dials that looks really nice. For those who have done it can you post any pics or any info ?

I had done the AC rings and then went nuts and tore the whole center dash apart because the light gray bothered me that much... I have no idea why it's the only thing in the entire Jeep that was that color but it's not anymore.

It looks good. How long did it take you to take it apart? I've been thinking about doing something similar

Idid the whole thing (take apart/prep/paint/dry/reinstall) in about 5 hours. I've used both the Dupli-color and Krylon fusion before and I personally like the Krylon better. two coats adhesion promoter, 3-4 coats paint, layering up as I go, then another 3 coats with the Krylon clear color... it comes out nicer than most canned Clear coats.
