What you see was a masking job that was kinda a PITA but I feel worth it. I just used blue painters tape and a utility blade to make the cuts where needed. Took me about 20 min to tape it.

Sounds like a nice mod. The only thing I'd suggest to anyone doing this is to go ahead and purchase the vinyl prep paint from O'Rielly (it's clear and promotes adhesion for the Vinyl paint itself), then paint, then use some Duplicolor clear coat for wheels. It will deepen the effect and can still all be done for under $20.
Cool "almost free" mod
Now if someone wanted to go over the top, sand prep smooth all the parts unless you want a textured finish, make a trip to your local automotive paint store, get the plastic epoxy primer, epoxy paint, epoxy high gloss clear, reducer, thinners, etc, etc and you'll have some first class stuff. If you dont' have a sprayer you can use something called PreVal Bottles/Sprayers which are white charged cannisters with red lettering, been around for years and work great. Simply mix your coatings as you're going through the steps, you have to get the right viscosity since it's not a real sprayer and you can do some beautiful work on small parts.

Now that it has been a while, how is the Duplicolor Vinyl paint holding up? Any pictures of used Jeeps with this mod? Please post more pics, I use this Jeep and so do my kids :-). I really dont want to do this if it will look bad in a few months.
Thank you in advance for pics

Well I went ahead and did this mod. It looks great and was really easy if you follow these directions. When you are finished dont rush putting them back in, I did and had to do some touch ups.
