I was skeptical too at first. I test fired the paint on the plastic air dam that I yanked off last week to make sure it looked good and would stick. I can't scrape it off the plastic with my fingernails. Just make sure you buy a good quality plastic paint, (like the Dupli-color vinyl coating) it is supposed to have better adhesion without primer and make sure you clean the surface thoroughly. It supposedly is "fade and crack" resistane per the Duplicolor website.

for those of you wanting tp paint the vent covers to match body color...
go here www.paintscratch.com . i have used there stuff on several diiferent cars, even yellow and it was a perfect match everytime.

just so you know this will cost more than six dollars ....if you just buy the color matched spray paint and then buy some small cans of duplicolor primer and clear coat for your local autoparts store, it will be in the 35$ range.

hope this helps you folks out.

p.s. if you buy from paintscratch. com pay very close attention to the paint buying process......make sure you put all the correct info on there so your color will be correct,

Armycop, have you thought about pulling the dash apart and painting the trim to match? That is something I would be interested in, but am not sure on how to dismantle the dash and cluster.

Rescue Green isn't getting discontinued anymore. I like and don't like that decision, because it means paint will be easier to find and cheaper, but it also means people will keep buying Jeeps in my color. There are 3 of them in town now. The other two (1 Sahara) are always with top on, windows up.

My wife says they should lose their privileges of driving a ragtop if they leave the top up with nice weather.

I have thought about it, but it looks like one moulded piece. That would require quite a bit of work, and I don't have a service manual to check it out. I may paint the knobs (the billet ones cost over $60 and I have some paint left) So far the paint is wearing great, its been covered in dirt and pollen, cleaned and no flaking or wearing off.
