Default Second Row YES Bucket Seats In My JK Updated w/ Pics.

I took the plunge and installed two YES buckets from a 2 door Rubicon in my Unlimited's second row. It took a while for me to get it all together, but I got it done and it's pretty damn cool.

Parts used:

16' of 2" x 3/8" steel
10 1/2" steel bolts
20 1/2" flat washers
10 1/2" nylon lock nuts
16 5/16" 5/16" bolts
32 5/16"f lat washers
16 5/16" nylon lock nuts

I had to design the whole thing in my noggin. I checked out all the possible routes, from buying the Mastercraft brackets to using the stock stuff, but it wound up that I had to do it myself.

Had all the steel cut myself and had it bent at a local metal worker with a "brake."

I had to drill the holes with Dewalt cobalt metal bits because the wood ones weren't cutting it. Haha, pun.

I'll update with more pictures and a more in depth write up. Feel free to ask questions. Late for work.

Well, so much for folding the rear seats flat! Of course I think I've done that maybe twice, so I think it's awesome what you've done. What are you going to put between the two seats? There are tons of possibilities, so I'm looking forward to what you come up with. Great job and it looks sturdy as hell too! Keep those pics coming.

Dang man, thats sick, thats the one thing I regret about a two door is the lessened amount of room to play with ideas. Post a Picture of both seats in, Im anxious to see it!

Luckily the seats can recline so I can push them all the way forward and get a good amount of storage space still.

I would love to figure something out to put in between. I wanted to do a second full size center console, but the space is tight; maybe 3 inches at best between them. Going to be tough putting anything between. Underneath, however, is a different story. It's a cavern under there, waiting for storage. I'm thinking Bazooka subs or maybe a couple Basslinks.

Did you use Grade 8 bolts for attaching your brackets and seats?

That has got to be so much more comfortable.....love it.
