I figured I would turn this into a write-up because I know a lot of people aren't clear on how easy these things are to take off of your 2008 Sahara.

This is just an option if you don't feel like taking the bumper off. I was by myself and wasn't sure if I would be able to put the bumper back on easily with no help.

I was just looking at what it would take to remove the silver pieces, only to find that I was going to have to remove the rear bumper. Great to know that it isn't necessary!

I think I am going to take mine off too after reading the thread. I like the painted one, but my jeep is black.
Not sure about selling them, but maybe a good idea.

Thanks for the write-up. I just took mine off my '10 Sahara in about 20 minutes. Mine's black, so I thought it was an immediate, free improvement. I may not have been as patient on the back as th OP, but we only had minimal damage to the screw holes (one completely blown out, the other just 4 broke through).
I'll sell them cheap if anybody wants them.
