Installed this same kit on a friends jeep... What a brutal set up! If it didn't look so damed cool when you were done it wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. Also the template they give you for cutting the fender is junk. Lot's of RTV and I don't think this thing will ever leak water though!

Default Just a heads up

I have the same set up... and a buddy of mine said I should check the hose coming off of the bottom of the air box (filter housing)... he heard that they pop off after some miles..... I checked mine and found that it was off... clamp was still tight on the hose... but was not connected to filter housing.... I pulled it all down and cleaned all parts.... put it all back together and RVT it like the direction said... let it sit for 4 hours... road tested it about five miles.... got to the house and rechecked all parts..... hose popped off again and silicone was dry.... then my inner shade tree mechanic came out.... pulled it back down and re-cleaned all parts.... and went back with JB weld around the tube to the filter housing and filter housing mounting bolts. Let it set for 24 hours .. Road tested it for 85 miles on and off-road. Rechecking it every 20 miles... It has not come off since then.... I have put right at 1000 miles on since the repair... At idle you can feel the air being drawn in at the top intake port. You can still pull air filter housing off you just have to pull the hose off at the pipe... not the bottom of the filter housing..... Hope it helps... worth looking at once and while

You made me go out and check mine. It's holing up good and seals look to be in tact but I think after the next rinse another dose of RTV around all the joints wouldn't hurt.

Glad you did not have any issues... its just good to check on it before you take it out to go swimming.... like checking the oil....its just good to know is right...I think my bottom radiator hose was pushing against the 90 degree hose going to the bottom of the air box..... take care

Yeah I didn't have any contact there but I did lower down where it crosses behind the shock.

Anybody hook one of theses up to Ripps cai? I don't like the silicone sealing the bolts at the bottom of the air box, the seal between the two air box halves, and now I don't like the elbow at the bottom of the air box either. Seems like the cai would put all these issues to rest. if you can read this, my Jeep is broken....

That's funny... mine has no contact back there by the shock.... you may have just solved this problem... for those of us that had them pop off.... I may not have slid my rubber hose back far enough when it was installed on the pipe.... Mine is still holding strong right now...
