They say you should keep the friends that help you move and to help that friend move, I decided to get the Rugged Ridge hitch so I could pull their trailer. Bought it over the phone from the great people at Quadratec. Matched a better offer and shipped it to me very fast. I was happy that it came so quick that I'd be able to install it and have it ready for this weekends move... until I opened the box.
While I do plan on calling Quadratec tomorrow, and I'm sure thay will replace it with no problem, I'm rather honked off at Rugged Ridge and the poor quality of this hitch.
The collar on the end of the receiver is welded on at an angle. I looks bad from all angles.
The bracket that is to hold the wiring is bent.
And this is the big one. The hitch tube is about 10 degrees off! Even without the square, you can see it plain as day.
Sure, I'm not pleased that the nuts are not welded on as they are shown in the ad, and the bolts are not the best. I was considering using grade 8s anyway, but come on! Someone welded this thing wrong and sent it on down the line where at least a painter and a packer saw it too and just sent it on down the line to me.
I did not install it, as I did not have any faith in it, and assumed I'd be stuck with it if I installed it. Had to make other plans to tow friends trailer, but will follow up with Quadratec tomorrow morning. Anyone else have issues with their hitches or am I just the lucky one?

I got mine friday and haven't installed it yet. I'll have the take a closer look at it now! Thanks for the heads up. I did notice like you did that the nuts aren't welded on. This will make for some minor cursing on the install I'm sure. I had read a post that said that RR was welding the nuts on now but mine aren't.

Called Quadratic this morning and as expected, they are on the ball. Sending out a replacement right away along with a UPS pickup tag. Quadratec's customer service is very good, now we wait to see if Rugged Ridge's next hitch better.
