Rock Hard License Plate Relocation Bracket & ORO PlateLITE
First I would like to thank David at Northridge4x4.com for dealing with me and my wanting to get this done before the new license plates got here.
The kit http://www.northridge4x4.com/proddet...G-RH-PLATELITE
comes with
Except for the hot tub control box.
I installed this on Rhonda's Little Red RubyJeep as RubyDoo has hers on the rear bumper.
Before
Remove the spare tire and set aside then remove the center cap and save for a day when a tire shop looses one.
Install the round part of the plate holder on the studs with the slot down then carefully install spare back on.
Take the bare end of the wires and put some electrical tape on to fish them around. Push the end of the wires through the center of the spare wheel below the squair shaft comming out
Now pull out plug on passanger side of the spare holder on the rear door and put a small hole in it then fish the wire through the plug and into the door. After taking off the the plastic wire protector on the inside or the door (pops from bottom) push the wire up and pull through the bigger hole.
I was able to disengage the wire ties near the passanger side of the door and on the inside of the back its self with a razor blade knife. Untape eather end of the wire loom protector and feed the wire through it and retape.
Now trace the wire up to where it connects to the main loom and goes through an other rubber plug and place a small hole in the plug and fish the wire though.
Now remove the passanger tail light and push the wire through and finally remove the tape on the end of the wires.
Now comes the wiring part, On the Jeep pigtail for the tail light the wire go like this.
White with Tan tracer = Gnd Black = signal White with purple tracer = parking/tail light White with Yellow tracer = brake/stop
With this said now you can hook up the proper wires to the wiring loom according to the ORO directions. Tail = Green Ground = black Brake = red
After testing to make sure you have them connected properly put your jeep back together and your tools away and look at what you did now and enjoy a couple of .
Hope this helps and it DOES work on a JK,
Kat

Need the tail light for the license plate light to come on.
The third brake light is an option if a Jeep needs it, I only connected it so that if people wanted it, it was there and to complete the install for every option

What did you do with the wires for the original license plate light on the drivers side? I see you did indeed buy the plug cover from the dealership...did you just cut the wires from the light, tape them up with electrical tape, and stuff them into the body? Why wouldn't you just rerun those wires, which no longer had any current draw on them, to the license plate light on the ORO Liteplate instead of tapping into the wiring for the passenger side tail lamp which has a current draw on it?
Thanks for the help,

The stock ones unplug and i just left unpluged.
Rerunning the wires throught the door then down to the bottom then across the back and back up and into the area of the left rear would be a bit more dificult and need to add about 4-5' of wire to get over there. + I would also cut off the plug from the orginal ones and use it to plug in BUT i did NOT want to cut anything off the orginal if we were to reuse it.
The ORO plate lights are LED and draw pratically nothing.

That's what I did on mine, but I pulled it out of the gate and ran it up the swing arm. I posted a mini write up on it in another thread.
