Mine is a 09 and I have that same gap. My fenders aren't cut yet but I'm pretty sure the inner fender covers the gap pretty well. When I get out of bed in a minute, I'll go look and see exactly what it looks like lol.

If you keep the inner fender long enough you can bend it and put a tab back in to the outer fender to cover that gap.

Red for President! I am inspired. Why oh why would i spend $200-500 for fenders when i can do this for free?

Awesome Bro thanks!!!

If you look in the original post there is a spot where I put an extra screw to hold the flap back a little once its cut, but yes there is a gap even on my 08, I have had no issues since I did mine.

did it! Still need to put the trim on, but had to go wheeling 1st to try it out.

I tapered the ends so they follow the lines of the rock rails.

Followed your write up last fall and everything came out perfect. Even managed to leave the inner fender liner on while cutting the fender then trimmed to fit after. Thanks for the write up.
