Default New Quadratec Integrated Solenoid Winch – Love It So Far!

First, Kudos to Quadratec for the way they handled my issue so fast and second, it’s a great winch.

I looked for a very long time at winches (saving up and doing my research) and when Quadratec came out with their integrated solenoid version I was sold on its specs/functionality/price and free shipping for being a forum member. Here’s some background and my initial take on this winch.

I saved up and ordered the 9500i version 12/10 and it arrived super fast on 12/12. UPS delivered it and the box was tore/beat up pretty bad. I opened it only to find the aluminum housing for the integrated solenoid cracked and broken. Clearly it was dropped at least once during shipping. It is heavy (~98 pounds according to the shipping label). No worries other than disappointment that I could not install it…I took several pics of the box and winch and called Quadratec on 12/13. They had me email the pics and by end of day had approved a replacement to be sent out at no charge and put a damage claim in for UPS to come pick up the broken one.

The replacement arrived Monday 12/17. It was raining that day and I happened to be home when it was being delivered. I had UPS meet me at the garage door so I could get it right in out of the rain. Well, the great news is that this one arrived undamaged! The bad news is that once again, the box looked like it went through quite an adventure before it arrived at my house. There was loosely taped packing tape that was added after it left Quadratec…because the box was wet and the bottom of the winch had split through…luckily it was not all the way through the box and damaged. Maybe it’s because they don’t deliver a lot of heavy items that they have issues?? Who knows. Maybe it needs to have some plywood in the box, framing/crating the winch to protect it during delivery?

Things dried out here and my son and I installed it last night. Initial thoughts on the winch itself:
• Very sturdy/stout
• Great looking
• Well designed
• Easy to install
• 1st test it worked perfectly
• I’ll stretch the cable sometime this week

• Instructions say it mounts with the include 10MM bolts…wrong, they are 15MM. Not that big of a deal to work around.
• The positive cable could be a few inches longer to give you more cable routing options. Again, not that big of a deal but would be helpful.
- The negative cable is longer than the positive and very easy to route to multiple locations.

I’ll post more when I get a chance to use it in a real world situation. For now, I wanted to give everyone a rundown on what appears to be a great product and also share about the good customer service from Quadratec.

Mine arrived two days ago.
Waiting on my Rock Hard bumper I also ordered through them to arrive and put it on. But yes, looking forward to putting this sweet one on.
Footnote though, for forum members. I ordered mine first, then saw the free shipping to forum members on the website and emailed Quadratrac. The first email asked me to confirm it, so I found the Quadratrac contact here and emailed with my order number.
No free shipping for me, even though I just dropped almost 2 grand on my order for this and other things.

So, be sure and contact them here first, to qualify. Otherwise, I have nothing but good things to say about all my other shipments, and quality of goods, so far.
