Default MY Interior LED Upgrade

I have a few people ask me how I installed my LED's in the footwells. I figured I would just do a small write up.

On the passenger side footwell there is a cluster of wires. The yellow wire in the bundle with a white stripe in it is the dome the wire that controls the dome light. I figured if i spliced into that wire i could add some more lights. I tried it and it worked. The hardest part about installing this is squeezing yourself under the dash. I picked up some LED's at autozone. I had the wire connectors already. For the drivers side I could not find the yellow wire with the white stripe on it so I took an old cell phone charger and used the wire from that to run over to the passenger side and connected that wire to the same as the passenger side.

I figured that the dome light wire would have to run to the back door too so on the passenger side about the subwoofer I pulled the carpet back and spliced into the wire to add an LED strip when I open the rear gate.

I bought some LED's for the dome lights off of eBay. It came with about 12 bulbs (way more then needed). 2007 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK 4 Door Complete 12 Bulb LED Interior Kit 5000K | eBay

The lights all turn on when the doors are opened and dim just like they did with the old yellow looking bulbs

Here is the finished product

Yes it is the same wire in the rear. It runs down the roll bar on the passenger side from the dome light.

I'm not sure what the name of the LEDs are at autozone but they had multiple ones in all sorts of colors. Any of them would work

What I did was test the wires first to see what was goes where. After I figured that out I just hooked the ground to the other ground wires that are already in the footwell

Default Durka Durka.....

you'd figure Jeep would make this standard OE..... can't imagine they would have to raise their cost very much. Nice job and thank you for the replies back.

Autozone also sells a small led panel for the rear cargo light. Looked like the factory light was still in it in your pics.
