if u are at 4500 rpms there is something definitely wrong, it probably should be around 2500 give or take a few hundred, might be time for trip to dealer

you sure about that? you could have a problem with your instrument cluster computer, it controls the cruise control, it makes no sense to me, but I would get it looked at, shouldnt be driving it at a constant 4500rpm

Default Thanks

You need to go into the instructions business. I followed your comments and pictures and the installation went without a hitch. I made the removal tool by heating up and old screwdriver with MAP gas and bending it over with a 3 lb sledge.

Thanks again for the pictures. They were far better than the instructions furnished by the mfg.

I don't have the part #s.......I bought a complete kit that has everything that is needed. I bought mine from jeepsareus.com. I see they have the same kit I bought listed for $150. I paid a little more for mine, but it was still money well spent in my book

I think the kits are a rip. Here are some PNs and prices. I don't think they sell the screws, so pick up some self tapping screws at the hardware store.

cruise control bucket (with cutout for stalk), black
1GA31XDV-AA
$8.25

cruise control stalk
4671929-AB
$24.28

3 screws to secure stalk
?
$5

horn switch with cruise wiring
?
$37

Good point........looking back on it, this would be the cheaper way to go. I bought the kit in the very first week I owned my Jeep so I wasn't familiar with where I could look up parts yet. If I had to do it over this looks like the better option.
