Actually, they were purchased. All I had done to them was have the ends stitched into a loop to slide over the headrest supports. I actually boought the handles here (h ttp://www.clcboats.com/kayakgear.php).

That is an elegant solution.

I was given 4 handles (and the freedom top bag) when I got my 2012 Rubi.
I'm doing this mod, it's too easy not to.

Default A cleaner mounting

Hey everyone, I ordered mine a while ago thanks to this thread. A few weeks ago I decide to try mounting the handle with the ends pointing inward instead of outward. So instead of getting that hard drop down you get a nice smooth curve. I think it's a cleaner look.

I got my six today!
Two in the sound bar, two in the headrests and two up front.
I took some old webbing that I saved from an old carseat, my wife sewed on some velcro to the webbing to make the rollbar wraps, and then sewed the handles to the webbing. Looks awesome, and it helps my daughter climb up into the jeep.

Thanks for the great find!!!!!!
I'm less than $29 out the door.

I was reading through this old post and was just curious if anyone has painted their handles to match the Jeep. Unless I missed it I didn't see where anyone had done this. When you buy the handles from CLC Boats can the handles be taken off of the ribbon?

If anyone is good with photoshop I would be interested to see what they would look like painted to match a Rescue Green. I guess worst case scenario I can post up some pictures once I try it, if they look good.
