You guys have me convinced that this is a great mod. The problem now is which insert to use. I can't decide which pattern I like best.

First, want to say a big thank you to everybody on this forum who continue to provide cheap and useful mods, that even a newb like myself can do..

Today I went to HD and got a $3 roll of black plastic gutter guard mesh, a bag of zip ties, and some of the sticky squares.. I also learned that Gorilla Glue = not my friend.

It took a bit of time to figure out the best way to position and 'tie' everything together, but it came out great! I was scared to take the grille off, but it came off (and back on!) without a hitch...

Not that you havent seen it before, I've attached some pics, for proof

Thanks everyone for sharing all these ideas for the grill mod. Has anyone had any issues with the plastic gutter guard version? I'm worried about the heat warping the plastic or melting it.

I'm leaning towards the gutter guard just because it's already black and saves me having to do any painting. Makes it that much easier you know.

There is another thread that has the name of them don't reneged off of the to of my head but you can get the at Lowes, Ace, or Home depot. same general area as zip ties. Will look to see if I can find other post.
