Plus no hardware stores in my area sell expended aluminium and theres no way I'm using steel.
Thanks and thanks again for every one posting how to do it.

ScottG,

What did you use for your yellow insert?

Ok, Where did you get the material and what kind is it? I.E. Expanded aluminum, Stamped steel

Roeanoke, I got the insert at Lowe's (Buckley and Quincy) and sprayed it with yellow rustoleum paint.

It's just an aluminum sheet, pretty flimsy but very easy to manipulate to zip tie it to the back of the grill.

I'd be concerned not enough air is getting through. Looks from the picture to be pretty closed up.

I have had this insert on my grill for the past 6+ months (through our hottest summer days). It was painted black prior to me painting my grill. I have never had a problem with engine temp. The guage is at the same mark it was prior to me installing it.

Very nice then. I saw this same sheet at Lowe's when I was doing my grill mod and was a little leery of it. Worried for nothing!

Thanks man, I've been wanting to do this mod but everywhere i have looked for the metal was about $40-60 for the metal alone.
