i really like this idea, i might do this, I really hate the Mopar Chrome grill inserts i got a few days after i got my Jeep, but now i just hate them, I'm only keeping them on until i get a lift or something that makes my rig different then others.

This is probably the best looking mod on my jeep thus far... And the cheapest

I did the grill mod using the "Lowes Gutter Guard Method"... cheap and good looking. But this is the first time in three years I've noticed the jeep running hotter and sometimes the electric fan boost kicks in... hum.

Don't expect the self-adhesive paper junk on the holders to do the job.

I guess search is my friend... I will definitely be looking into that!

No worries, I didn't mean to sound like an ass. You can probably just soak the white backing off the ones that have come loose, and deal with any other stragglers later if/when they get loose themselves... it's still a great mod for the appearance/function per dollar spent & time invested.

Well. I did the whole thing with adhesive backing with zip ties and guerrilla glue. and it is nicely secured in place still.

I didn't take it that way, so no worries right back at ya. The pack that I bought from HD was like for 100, so I might just use new ones. Although, you have a good point, I can just as easily use the old ones. Having used Gutter Guard, it is in a few pieces, so I have to rework it anyways. I also need to look into McMaster for some parts for my motorcycle, so if i go that way I just might order some mesh...

I used the following from McMaster:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#92725t22/=8h3774

Item # 92725T22

Desc: Hexagon-Hole Perforated Sheet .030Thk, 22 GA Steel, 1/4" Dia, 79% Open Area, 36" X 40"

This the above grill, it made 3 full grills. I would prefer Stainless Steel!

htp://www.mcmaster.com/#7582k22/=8h3baw

Item # 7582K22

Desc: UV-Resistant Cable Tie Holder Adhesive Back/Screw Mnt, 4-Way, for.18" Max Tie, Black

The only bad part about the above is that the actual physical size of the adhesive back mounts did fit between the center lines, or webs, so I had to machine them in half.. So if ordering the above cable tie holders, order half the size. PM me and I can find the right size to work.

I also used the following to glue:

Grainger.com

htp://www.grainger.com/Grainger/GORILLA-GLUE-Super-Glue-4GZK6?Pid=search

Grainger Item # 4GZK6

Desc: Super Glue, Bottle, 15g, Coverage 1 Square Inch per Drop, Temp. Range -65 to 220 F, Clamping Time 30 to 60 Sec, Full Cure 24 Hrs, For Instant Bonding With No Clamping, Indoor Use, Use On Wood, Plastic, Glass, Metal, Ceramics, Stone, Brick, Paper, Rubber, Polyurethane Adhesive, Rubber Toughened, Impact Resistant, Anti-Clog Tip

I used this on the back of the Cable Tie Holder Adhesive Back holders..

The paint I used was High Temperature Gloss Black from Home Depot.
