Finally had a chance to do mine today came out easier that I thought

quick run down

parts needed

1/ 150 grit sandpaper (freebie)
1/ 5 Min Epoxy (5 bucks)
3 / Sqaure Blocks (Buck and change a piece)
* / Zippie ties (freebie)
1/ Duplicolor etching Primer ( 5 Bucks)
1/ Duplicolor textured Metal ( 7 but paid 5 for it.. Told cashier I found it on clearance)
2/ Expanded sheet Metal ( 10 bucks a Piece)

OK , remove grill we know that and everything else pictured

Parts Used

Rough up inside of grill with sandpaper

Apply zip tie Blocks... The zip tied blocks stuck on pretty well, but backed it with the epoxy as a percaution

Primed and painted The Shests.. I didnt want to do black or silver for this so I went with the textured metal look... I think It came out pretty well 2 Coated Per can

Deciding which way to place the sheets..Horizontal Or Vertical

Chose the Horizontal look and Put the grill back in place

What Do you guys think?

Alfy

Thumbs down Problem

Anyone have an issue with the tie wrap holders coming unstuck?

All of mine in the middle came unstuck, so I took it off for now.

If this is the same question as has been asked many other times before, all you gotta do is soak them in water (or goof-off or other sticker remover), get the white backing material off of them, dry them off, scuff them up, and glue them onto the backside of the grill. Don't expect the self-adhesive paper junk on the holders to do the job.

Yep, I was lazy and didn't use Gorilla Glue, even though I bought some specifically for that purpose. Mines coming apart in the middle too

The other option, if you just want to avoid the glue and problems with that all together is to just cut and form the insert around the radiator. The grill holds the insert against the radiator supports on the top and bottom with pressure, no movement, no worries, and you can remove it when you want. Already came in handy for me when I decided to change the color to blue, with reflective glass bead paint.

I don't think it is beyond most peoples skill level if you have patience and cutters.
