Are you relying on the little adhesive pads that the blocks come with, or did you soak and peel those off first and then super-glue the plastic backs of the blocks to the inside of the grill? Most folks that have had success with this mod have soaked the backing off the blocks either in water or goo-gone; the stick'em on those isn't gonna hold.

I soaked the tabs in alcohol so that the adhesive pads slid right off. Let them dry and then Gorilla Glue 'em on there.

I would also recommend taking a little bit of sand paper and roughing up the spot that you glue them before you clean it. That will give the glue more surface area to bond with.

Mine has been holding strong for a long time. I used perforated aluminum which will cause a lot more air restriction that a screen, so if it's holding for me it should hold for whatever you use.

Default Grille Before & After..

Thanks to everyone for their tips on the Grill Installation! Couldn't have been a cheaper, easier way to upgrade the front-end.

Default Paint Issues

I dig this mod. I even found the metal and materials with ease. Maybe someone can help me out with paint issues. The paint is a flat black, Rustoleum brand. When I painted the metal it looked perfect. As soon as I went to place it in, it seemed dinged up already without having really taking any abuse. The metal was already shining through the paint. I put about three good coats on the metal. What am I missing? Should I prime it first? The metal was bare to begin with. Need guidance.
