It has taken me a long time to get this done. I looked for the expanded steel for quite a while. Finally gave in and went to the local steel supply company. Ordered my piece of 1/4" by 18 expanded steel. Waited for a week for them to cut it. Dropped it off at the powder coat shop and waited for another week. I didn't want to deal with the zip ties and blocks falling off. I have heard mixed reviews about the performance of the blocks. So I screwed it into the frame behind the grill. I had to trim the steel in a couple of places.

I am very happy with how it turned out!! Worth the wait!!

Thanks!!
Anyone else considering going this route I recommend a 13"X27" piece of steel. I would have liked a litte more overlap with the upper and lower cross member than what I got with the 12x27 I used. I'm pretty sure 27 wide Good luck

Redid after scraping off all of the sticky pads and using gorilla glue . what a PITA removing the pads. took a couple of hours.
finished jop - looked good - please ignore that i didnt wash it.

looked good but i wasnt convinced it would last long term .
So redid with expanded aluminium mesh. One piece method attached to the horizontal bars top and bottom with a couple of zip ties.
