I cannot help you much. Hopefully someone else can tell you. I think I remember reading that it also comes up into the engine bay. I'm not sure where. It should have a jiggle cap and hose similar to the others.

I want to use the breather hose with PFA tube which is used to use in chemical industry
is it ok if i use PFA tube instead of fuel hose?

I'm not sure. Over here at least, fuel line is so cheap that I would just use it. Then you don't have to worry about it.

Changed my diff fluid after some deep streams and mud holes. Rear had a little water in it. Front looked good. Decided I need to extend my breathers. Really easy!!!

 

Thanks for the fantastic write-up. It gave me the confidence to do the axle breathers on my 2010 JKUS this morning.

I started with 10' of 5/16 fuel hose. Fuel hose is overkill. The original tube is 5/16 vacuum hose (no cord reinforcement) but the local AdvAuto was out so they sold me fuel hose for the same price.

I started with the rear. Removed old hose by unplugging from the axle then sliding the capped end of the hose (in fender) off the plastic screw. If you wiggle it, it will come off. Find where the metal clip attaches to the frame. You will want to clip the new hose in the same place. Then pull the hose out from under the fender so the metal clip stays on it. I transferred the metal clip to the new hose but since my Jeep is raised 4" I added 4" from the clip to the axle end of the hose. Next I un-taped the plastic holder at the cap end and reattached it with the same tape to the new hose the same distance from the metal clip as the old one. Re-clip the hose where it was and extend it into the passenger side tail light like Rooster showed above.

The hose passes above the frame cross member...


I added a plastic tie to the fame to help keep the longer hose in position...


Moving to the front... Once again, note where the two (2) existing metal clips are. They will be used on the new hose. I added 3" from the lower clip to the axle end for my added travel.


I routed the hose under the brake lines and electrical bundles over to the top of the fender. I could have gone to the firewall but I didn't want anything near the steering shaft.

This was a fast and easy mod. The transfer case and autotrans will have to wait. I haven't found the ends yet.

Great write up ! Instead of just extending i routed mine right to the air box and i figured there was no psi in the line id use a lighter braided water hose. 3 to the air box 1 routed into the tail light!

This write up is great, I'm sure it will make more sense with my iPad with use under the Jeep!

Dumb question, my Jeep goes into the local 4x4 shop where they are swapping out both factory axels and replacing the whole assembly with Dynatrac pro rock d44 and pro rock d60, should I quiz my mechanics to see if their putting in longer lines while their doing the swap?

When you ran the new line did you use the old line as a guide to pull the new line for you?

Kind of like fishing av cables through walls/floors
