My mirrow dont seem to drip too bad and when i drilled the hole no water came out, but i guess its done in case they start holding water in the future.

Wow .. this thread started in dec 2006 ... and still going on. I drilled my mirrors today, but no water even thou I've washed twice already. That is my first official mod! Wooyoo ... I'm in!!!

So ... after owning my Rocky M for 17 days, the count is 1 addon (tire cover) and 1 simple mod.

Next time you wash is spray some water in there on purpose, none came out when I first drilled mine but everything I was I see it streaming.

make sure you do get a stream of water as you hose it. If you don't, you may have to trip the rubber gasket inside as it could be blocking the acces to the hole.

See, we NEED 48 PAGES on this topic! It's complicated.

I used a 2" Hole Saw bit and drilled right through the Mirror. Was that what I was supposed to do?...............

I only show 13 pages, but I do have 40 posts per page...

Still can't report back on my mirror and if it runs, hard to tell since I haven't washed it other than to spay off bird crap and some mud a few times.

Default Finally made it!!!

Well this is what I made after searching everywhere. Two 2mm holes for each mirror. One is at the bottom of the arm and the other one very close to the original v at the bottom of the bracket. Now I think that the secret is not to cut the foam since water will get in touch with door paint, and that is why this foam is in there, just to prevent that. So what I made is to pull out the lower part of this foam, turn it upside down and made a rebate with my dremel so that the lower hole does not get sealed with it, but water will never get door's paint since it is only a little channel from the top that end's just in front of the lower hole. Hope this helps. Regards.

Whenever I see another JK in the parking lot I check its mirroirs. If they are drilled, I know the owner reads the JK-Forum ... if not, then I try to tell him/her about it. Nice way to get to know other JK owners .... including the cute lady at the garage where my daughter had her VW New Beetle fixed.

This lady was very happy to hear about the mod ...and about the JK-Forum .. and ... well I married ..so it was nice to meet another JK owner. LOL
