Drilled the side view mirrors!
#292
I'm probably the last one on this forum to do this mod, but I finally went out tonight, in the rain, and drilled my mirrors. There wasn't any water in them despite heavy rain this afternoon.
I took both my mirrors off to drill them because I knew what I would find. They were filled with mud and sand from prior escapades.
I recommend taking off the mirrors to drill them if for no other reason, then to clean out the mud already accumulated.
I also found the passenger gasket had been folded over onto itself, but was able to unfold it.
Great mod, thanks Rubimon!!

Got some pics too!
I know this is overkill, but I like posting pictures....
T-40 is the tool to use if you want to "dismount"
FYI in case you wondered what it looks like:
Whats behind the "hole area"
Drilled just over the ineffective "weep hole"
