Yeah, there are some that have pulled them off offroad so it's all what you want or how you want it to look. This was just my low budget (or tight wallet) version to acheive the same result as the high dollar kits out there.

So how much of a PITA is it if you need to change the tire? Do you have quick disconnects on the wires or something?

Great mod just trying to make sure I understand all of it before I copy you.

Never mind....just finished reading the rest of the original post....20 seconds!!

The threads back from a two month hiatus, I see.

Simple. Take the two screws holding the tag out, then there are two more that hold the tag mounting piece to the part that goes through the wheel for four screws total. The 4 wires are connected via a 4 wire flat trailer connector. So in review, remove four screws, unplug the connecter, and then just remove you wheel like normal. Quick and easy.

Went out to try this mod today and i do not have a bolt in the center to attach the mount to. I have an 08 and if you remove my spare there is just a large hole in the center of the lug nut area. Not even a place to drill a hole and make my own mount?? Anyone else have this problem??

The original poster has a Mopar/ Jeep bumper/tire carrier set up.
Is that what you have?

Only about $5-$6 from the dealer. They need to look it up for a export JK though or they will never find it..

EDIT: It's about $13 from the dealer now.
