You can buy a 3 foot piece of 1/8 in thick , 3/4 in wide aluminum at Home Depot, Lowe's etc., cut it with a hack saw or Dremel, and I just bent it in a bench vise. Very simple.

Rockhard makes one, but it's $85. There's a write up for it on another thread.

This is all readily available as a kit as well. I don't have a bender, welder, etc. So I bought everything listed on this write up and installed it myself. http://www.4x4xplor.com/ORO-LitePLATE.html

You didn't read the thread either. No where did I say anything about a bender or welder. I bent the aluminum by hand, the only tools that I used were a hacksaw or Dremel, bench vise, drill, and screwdriver.

I'm just saying if you don't have a garage, with anything more than a socket set like myself, this can be done as well. The custom route like yours is a much better fit and can be customized for specific wheels and tires. Nice MacGyver skills.

Yes, I'm merely saying that this does not take complicated tools (the whole reason that I was able to do it) and can save you $60. Either way works accomplishes the goal. I'm just trying to help the do it yourselfers out.

I'll get some pics up of it taken apart today.
