I had Homelink on my Liberty. Loved it. BUT, try to wire it so it's not always HOT!!! If you ever park outside, someone can smash your window (or unzip it ) then open your garage door, raid your tools, steel your stuff, and get right into your house (if you're like most people who don't lock their interior garage door) where they will rape and pillage!

Just a thought.

I agree since I used to (no longer have a garage) leave the jeep out with the top down a lot a wide-open garage door opener would have made me nervous.

Just did this one. We moved and my old remote wasn't the same style. I had seen this write up awhile back and looked it up recently. Perfect spot for this type of opener.

This is an AWESOME mod! I like it much better then then having it mounted on the roll bar. The roll bar mod is good, I just always had trouble finding the button under the cloth cover.

However, has anyone found that there is a little more road noise coming from the A pillar after the install is complete? It could be that something didn’t line up perfectly when I installed my opener but when I checked everything looks to be tight and sealed. It sounds as if my door isn’t closed all the way and I am getting a rush of air from the upper left corner. Has anyone else had this problem?

I haven't had any road nose whatsoever.

Thanks, for the response to my question. When I removed the plastic covering again I found that I had broken the white plastic retain bolt. I am hoping that after I replace it the noise will go away again. Just to reiterate this is a Great Mod.

I did it just like the OP.
Eazy peezy japaneesy. Took less than 5 minutes with some hook and loop tape.

Thanks.

This is awesome. I am so sick of moving my opener around. This is an excellent mod. Thanks. Looks like I have another project.
