With the increase in power did you get a drop in mpg?

Not really, If your able to keep your foot out off the floor, it actually seems
eaiser to get up to speed under normal acceleration. Honestly I have not documented my mileage
since the install so I cant say.

Its no worse thats for sure. But, I have a hard time keeping my foot out of it.

My $7 intake (...can't beat that price!) arrived yesterday and I'm going trashcan shopping in a bit. I'm guessing the goal is to try to get the top edges of the can to seal tight with the hood? I'm going to give it my best shot at getting it to suck air through the crack under the hood....that'll do til' I can get an AEV replacement hood

I am going to see if my 5.7L Hemi Mopar CAI on my Magnum R/T will fit the wife's JK as I can get one cheap from a buddy that is getting rid of his 300C and has a Mopar CAI and would let it go for $50 or less

My MPG went up. I went from 14.5 to 17.2, when I have my foot in it, it drops to 16.5.

I installed mine today. I put a little twist on your design and thought I'd adapt the factory air box (I now have three different trash cans to return ). It all fit perfectly. I was able to open the top so the pipe would fit through....did all of the surgery with a dremel tool. I used a dremel cut off wheel to do the trimming. I have pics of the test fit. I'll take a few more pics as soon as I can. I really have to thank ZoSo-Green for the inspiration. I just took a little 50 mile spin tonight after the install. On acceleration....nice growl. Seat of the pants dyno....good results. It does seem a lot more responsive. My last three fill-ups I've been averaging 14.5mpg, I'll let you know if I see any improvement there.

Guinnessdawg that looks really good. I want to know how the mileage does. I am trying to get the seller on Ebay to send me a quote on shipping USPS so hopefully the shipping will be less on the $7 intake.
Oh and I forgot to ask is the filter re-useable and does it require oiling?
