4-Point Hard Top Lift
I am presently building a 4 point hard top lift and couldn't wait to start a new thread for it. I apologize ahead of time for jumping the gun but I will have pics tomorrow showing the build.
I looked at all of the lifts I could find on this forum until my eyes glazed over. There are a lot of great designs out there but most are based on the single point lift (not all but most). I'm not crazy about this type and I wanted a lift that I could just lift leave the top in the raised position and lower when needed. I also wanted an inexpensive solution that could be made from easy to obtain materials from a home supply store.
Thus far I think I have succeeded in this by using PVC pipe as a combined pulley and shaft and linking them with the lift rope. All materials were purchased at the home center and are readily available at all home centers. The only item I didn't get from the home center is my winch which I purchased from Harbor Freight. But these are also readily available. The cost is around $80-$90 and this cost could be reduced as I purchased some un-needed items being the first build.
I have started the construction and everything appears to be working well. I will continue working on this and take pictures to post and better describe the lift.
I love my JK but my wife didn't understand that when I bought it I was just starting a project rather than just buying a vehicle! She'll come around though!

No problem. I will put some diagrams together and I have additional pics of the build that I will post showing more details. It may be a few days but I will get more information up!
