Default $10 Air Horn Upgrade

I went shopping at Harbor Freight today and saw that their dual trumpet air horn kit was on sale for $10!!!!

After reading the $30 horn upgrade I discovered that this mod is just too easy and cheap to pass up.

I took out the old horn and installed the compressor in its place. The factory wiring hooks right up to the compressor. The kit came with just the right amount of tubing for me to zip tie the two horns to the brake lines. You will also have to replace the M23 10 amp fuse with a 25 amp fuse.

It's not super loud, but it is a night and day difference over the girlie stock horn.

I've got the same kit. I mounted my horns with the open end facing down, just inside the grill. I used marine epoxy to mount the top end to the inside of the grill. Essentially, I filled a 2" high section of the "U" shaped profile formed by a vertical grille member, and then pressed the top of the horn into it. Once it set up properly, it held 100%.

Nice. I have the same set up, but I ran a relay, and I painted the horns black... way too much bright red IMO

When it gets warmer out I'm probably going to paint the trumpets black as well.
