Default Wheel and tire question

First time jeep owner here, just purchased a 2012 wrangler sahara unlimited. I want to put some new wheels and tires on it and I was wondering what's the biggest or best size I should go with? 16 or 17 inch rim? Tire size? Not planning on doing any lift or suspension work for the time being just want some nice bigger wheels than the stock ones. Thanks!!!

17's and a 265/70-17 will get your feet wet but still be a common size if you need an emergency spare out in town. 285's will rub and 16's limit your tire choices.

I'm partial to 17's. Welcome to the JK-Forum

a 265/70R17 is slightly smaller then the stock sahara tire.

True, but a touch wider. It's also the stock size for the 10A's. The minimal extra width makes the tire 'appear' larger.
