I'm getting my new JKUR in less than a month. I'm trying to save some money until I finally can get the whole package (lift and 35s) so I was planning on getting the Rugged Ridge Satin blacks for now that are 17 x9 and putting the stock rubi tires on them. The tire specs say up to 8.5 wide rims. I really don't want to spend extra on tires since I'm not getting the lift yet but I hear some negatives out there including the below from the manufacturer.

Quote
You mentioned in your email that you would like to install the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM tires on a 9" inch rim. We would not recommend that you install size LT255/75R17 on a 9" rim. This could be a safety issue. Also, your tires could possible start slipping on the wheel, causing irregular wear, or other problems.
End Quote

If you kind folks who have experience this set up can give me some positive feedback it would save me some time and money.

Oh and I really want to put the new rims on as soon as I get the jeep so keeping the stock rims are not a preferred option.
