STOCK RUBICON TIRES ON 17x9 WHEELS! HOW WILL THEY LOOK???
Ok I'm looking to get some new wheels and my gf wants to buy my old wheels which are 17x9 pro comps. Her rubicon is pretty much brand new and she just wants new wheels. So will these wheels look ok with the stock rubicon tires or will they look to ballooned out? Anyone that is running this size of wheel with stock tires please let me know how it looks and post some pics! Thanks

lol! yea that would be cool but i don't see it happening. her rubicon is way to expensive and nice to get dirty and scratch up. So anyone else got any rubicon tires on 17x9 wheels?

Those look alright to me. You guys that are runnig this setup does it look like it's pulling the sidewall out to much on the tire? Don't want much of that ballooned out look. How is the treadwear doing, wearing evenly? Is it good and safe to run those skinny tires on that wide of a rim? Of your not going to be airing down of course. Thanks again

Assuming the tire size is 255/75-17, the rim should be between 6.5 to 8.5 inches (according to 1010tires.com). Running with a 9 inch rim could affect the life of the tire. If you go forward with this, be sure to do the chalk test to modify the tire pressure to ensure good contact with the surface. I would expect you would need more air.

Well I talked to the owner of a local tire shop and he said it should be fine to mount the rubicon tires on that wide of a wheel. Said they've mounted quite a few of the similar setup before
