I noticed alot of you guys are running stock rear bumpers... know you need
a spacer to install a bigger and wider rear...I was told it won 't last long...Is
there any truth to this...CAN i put a 35" tire on the tailgate...Would appreciate
any feedback...

My spare Duratrax would not fit on the rear tire carrier at Direct tire without a spacer, on an MB72 with 4.5 bs, but after I took it from 45psi down to 35psi it fit without a spacer and rest on the bumper! Just added some extended stops. Stock rims with 6" of bs you will need spacer.

Stock bumper w oversized tire
I am still running the stock bumper but have upgraded to the Smittybilt oversized tire carrier. You can run a 35 on the stock equip but you will have some trouble opening your tailgate because the tire willl rest on the rear bumper. This was the reason for upgrading the tire carrier. Now the tailgate opens as if it were stock and no new rattles. I am still trying to figure out the lock as I have tried several but cant get anything to fit into the hole and keep the locking bar from turning. I would like to upgrade the bumper with a swingout tire carrier at some point but this was a great alternative for the time being and much cheaper.....

The first time I mounted up my 35 on the stock gear and saw the tailgate move I knew instantly that it was a bad idea to leave it there, so I took it off and started saving and got a smitty src rear with tire carrier. Sure it'll work with a spacer until it fails and bends the crap out of your tailgate lol
