I just got a 2007 Sahara and want to do some mods. I would like to do a 33x12.5x16, with a 2.5 inch lift, but i have been told that i can't put 16's without doing a backspace. Is this True, and if so can someone explain a backspace to me. Also, If anyone has pictures of a Sahara with 16's please send them to me i would like to see what it looks like.

Thanks

it's not the 16s it's the 12-1/2" width that rubs and catches.

Back spacing is the distance from the inner face of the rim (the part that sits against the hub) and the rear of the rim. More backspacing moves the rim in and less moves it out.

I'll see if I can find a picture to show this

Recently installed Rubicon Express 2.5" lift, tires are BFG 285/70/17 KO2, hope the lift settles down a notch in the front, just had it installed yesterday and have put 130 miles on it already.

Prob gonna to end up with very similar set up, which size tire did you have from factory and how noticeable is the size difference to the new ones?>

285/75/17 Toyo AT2
AEV 2.5 XT with correction brackets.
Stock wheels no spacers. Shimmed steering stops just in case. No rubbing issues.

This is how a JK should come from the factory. IMHO...
