I really wanted to go 15 but it seemed impossible to find the wheels I wanted in a 5x5" bolt pattern. So I just went 17

X2 for Toyo. I recently went from stock to Toyo AT2 (extreme) in a size smaller 285/75R17. This is an E-rated tire, picked them up for 1250.00 for all 5. I'm still riding stock height and with the additional width I needed an aftermarket wheel or spacer so I wouldn't rub the frame rail. I went with the Soft 8 (several manufacturers make this style) in 17" with 4.5" backspacing. The AT2s in some sizes are "extreme" and are much more aggressive than the standard AT2. They have performed well in the snow and wet conditions. A few days after getting them I made a trip from upstate NY to FL. The road noise was almost not noticeable and ride wasn't harsh at all with air pressure set proper.

Check out the new Falken Wildpeak at3s they have been quiet on the road for how aggressive they are, and the last 10k miles on them they have been wearing great. That being said I do a 5 tire rotation every 3000 miles. Oh and the price on them was great.
