Crown King in shitty weather

Sounds like you need to get some more Jeepin buddies if you're going it alone that much.

Agreed... everyone has gone it alone at one time or another, including myself. If you do go it alone, you need to pick your trails. CK in that kind of weather is just plain nuts going by yourself, your favorite fishing hole or not.

Yea I sure do...let me know when you're going out there Mesa It's really green and nice down on the Gila near the Coke Ovens this time of year.

The group I run with is having it's 3 day spring event next weekend, Mar 19~21. There are a few people coming from Tucson. Most people are camping at Usery Park, which is home base for the event and where we'll have dinner etc. The main trail for Saturday is the Box Canyon/Coke Ovens trail. So far we have 22 Jeeps/39 people attending.
Cost is $15.00 a night to camp and $12.00 for a catered BBQ beef dinner Saturday night. If interested, let me know and I'll send you a link to the event.

Even greenier than usual with all the rain we've had.

^^^^^ Yeah it's gonna be a traffic jam alright. Of the 22, maybe 16~17 are doing the Box Canyon/Coke Ovens run. The others are doing a modified Ajax trail. We're going to have to break the Ovens run into two groups and stagger the start times. A long day for sure!!

Wow! I'm sure it will be loads of fun! I love the Box Canyon/Coke Ovens trail. There's so much there I'd like to explore.

there was terrible weather, startted off in pouring rain, then sleet, then a blizzered, when we got closer to town it died of and let goof of in the snow a bit. but the wet conditions made everything real slippery!
sorry bout some of the pics, my friend thought it would be cool to angle the camera on some.
oh and the last pic is my broken sway bar links . oh well.
water fall in the back
we had to cross water a couple times and the river was moving

I love this trail, I did it last time just after some really heavy rain, no snow though. A lot washed out sections and had to stack rocks in several places just to get through. Looks like you had fun, next time I'm sure you will not forget to disconnect
