My DD too 10km to work each way I put on 40km total each day to work cause I go home for lunch.... Only 4 days a week tho 10hr shifts.

It's not mine, but it is my wife's, she drives 12 miles one way and uses it for hauling the kids ect. She will only drive a Jeep, this is the 2nd JK she also had a KJ and an XJ and before that a Toyota with 33's. 4X4's all the way!

My Jeep is my DD, but I have a 6 mile commute to work so it is not that bad. I also have a Harley Vrod I ride as much as possible and I am considering getting a new DD. Possibly a Ford Ranger (27 mpg), Mini Cooper (37 mpg), or Ford Focus (40 mpg)...The Ranger will come in handy, the Mini will be fun, and the Focus will get great mpg's....

I have you beat. Mine is my DD and I'm traveling 125 miles round trip daily (in NJ traffic - not much better then DC). When we moved wife asked if I wanted to get a crappy dd, but then id see the inside of the for about an hour a week. That wasn't going to happen. Commute is anywhere from hour and fifteen to two hrs each way. I've gotten used to it by now.

DD here... I put 9k miles in one year... my work commute is roughly 30 miles round trip. normally, I use my wife's Audi Q5 for everything else because of my 3 daughters and yorkie . I do love to drive around in the jeep though with no destination in mind .

mine is a DD... i don't buy jeeps so i can drive a honda to work. part of the fun for me is the jeep lifestyle and that includes a jeep as a DD.
