I saw a 1980 CJ7 LAREDO in a 4x4 magazine white with the brown top and interior. Still have the magazine somewhere in storage. Mid 1982 I drove by a carlot and saw a 1981 CJ7 LAREDO exactly like the one in the magazine I had to have it. It was brand new and they wanted 16000.00 Canadian dollars for it after some haggling and begging at the bank I drove it home. Met my wife a few months later got married had kids when number 2 was on the way we had to sell the jeep in 1989. Always kicked ourselves but have since owned 3 more jeeps and just took delivery of a 2008 stone white rubicon unlimited, and soon as it was the kids fault we had to sell the CJ7 I told them they can't drive this one.
