I remember envying anyone who had a jeep. I saw the bikini top and was blown away. It took a while but I am finally (waiting) getting my JK Rubicon.

I never cared for jeeps until I saw pictures of the JK unlimited and I was immediately hooked. I think it makes the previous model look so dated.

I really can't put my finger on it. I had a 1992 Cherokee Laredo with Select-Trac and traded it for a 1993 Grand Cherokee (first year they came out) with Command-Trac. That one got rear-ended twice. Both time we were able to drive away and the other car had to be towed. A few years later, I got to ride in a new TJ and loved it. I had previously ridden in a CJ and a YJ, but they didn't impress me. Well, the CJ had a small block Chevy, so it did a little. Anyway, I guess I was sort of lusting after a Wrangler after that, but didn't really realize it. Fast forward a few years and I saw a 2003 Rubicon with a 7.5" lift, 37's, and a "H2 Recovery Unit" sticker. Later I discovered that I had met the guy before. After I decided I wasn't using my 2001 Chevy truck since I got the Magnum RT. I saw a 2007 Rubicon with a 2.5" Skyjacker lift and 33" Mickey Thompson Baja tires and fell in love. Sorry for the long post; I just got carried away.

Default several Jeeps, but first Wrangler!

I've always loved the Jeep brand.
My wife and I started with a '99 Grand Cherokee, and then we got one of the last Cherokee's (2001 Limited.)
I pounced on a 2004 Grand Cherokee Freedom Edition...

BUT,
when I saw the JK 4 door for the first time, I was stunned!

It was like discovering super cars as a kid, but the JK is affordable.

Lastly, being a Marine in the '80's and 90's, I had a lot of respect for the H1, but the problem with the Hummer line was no convertibles in the affordable range. And the more I studied, and saw, I had no respect for the H2, and the H3 is a joke. Then, Jeep made the Wrangler a four-door... And a Dana 44 to boot!

My dream car is what I drive: Black Wrangler Unlimited

For me, it was likely a CJ7 from the 70's that someone had done up (this was the early 80's)... I can't recall all the specifics, but remember marvelling at this cool vehicle that was real tall, had its doors off, and was blasting rock music at the beach while its owner and his bikini-clad girlfriend just sat and smiled... I knew that I'd want a Jeep "when I grew up."

Well, I've got a Jeep now... time to grow up? Nah.

About 1980 my next door neighbor built a M38A1 with a 289 Ford V8 for his son to drive to high school... 33s with a 4"lift, No top, competition orange and black astroturf carpeting. THAT put jeeps on my radar. A couple of years ago I saw it's carcass at a swap meet. Just the tub and the frame were left. It made me sad.

I dont have a "specific" dream of a Jeep, but if i had to pick one (besides the one i have) it would be to add one of these, a 1966 CJ-5 (with the V6) to the stable as a toy to fiddle with.
