Which years produced the most reliable JK's? 2007 through to 2011
Just wondering what you guys think.... Out of all the JK models spanning the years from 2007 to 2011, which do you think out of those models were the most reliable? Which out of those years were the least reliable? Or were they all pretty much the same?

From my experience:
2007 2-door JK: 6 recalls within the first couple months traded with 21K miles no major mechanical failures, although the initial electrical "Stall Bug" where the Jeep would just die at low speed sucked...
2008 4-door JK: No problem for 19K miles, traded for a car...
2011 2-door JK: No problem for 6K miles so far.... knock on wood....

In theory, the issues should lessen with each passing model year unless there is a mid-model change like with the 2012 having the 3.6L and new automatic transmission. There are always problems though, especially when you consider third party suppliers, so it is just a theory.

I had no issues with my 2008 and so far no problems with my 2010. you can get a lemon from any brand and any year. I think a lot of the problems that people report on the jk are all in their head, they should have bought a civic. people expect to much.
just my opinion....

'07 JKU (2nd version, included auto trans cooler w/towing package) and have had no issues with it (other than the leak from the soft top, but I run the hard top 95% of the time). Oh, I've got 55,500 miles and I'm getting the brake pads replaced tomorrow (yep, the original ones).

The 2007 JK (bought in Dec 2006) I owned had more recalls than the 4 other Wranglers I have owned put together (YJ, TJ, '08&'11 JKs). The 2007 was the first year of the completely new from the ground up model. Early 2007 JK's had quite a few problems, they made improvements as they went along. The problems weren't in our "heads", a bad clutch throwout bearing, vehicle that dies when you accelerate from a stop, various electrical maladies, hardtop that poured a steady stream of water on top of the radio, not little drops, etc....... They corrected the problems as the months went by, but it was an inconvenience going to the dealer every couple weeks. It's not "expecting too much" for a brand new vehicle to make it from point A to point B and not having to go back to the dealer more than a reasonable number of times.
