So I ordered my JK stickers (so I can be in with the cool kids) and am debating of getting rid of the X. I know some people have and was wondering what people thought.

 

Rip it off. It's ugly

 

Get rid of it. A jeep is a jeep, though some are more capable than others if it gets off road then nothing else matters.

All my stickers but the "Wrangler" sticker came off a week or two after purchase. Stupid dealer sticker came off day 1 though. I can't stand the fact that the dealer insists on placing their advertisement sticker on your vehicle. Wasn't the massive ad on the tire cover enough? (that is gone too, but...)

 

I pulled my Sahara sticker and replaced it with a cool VT decal. JK is a JK. Still drives sweet no matter what you call it.

 

Get rid of it. As soon as I get a lot less lazy I'm taking it and my dealer sticker off.

 

Everyone that owns a Wrangler and even a lot who don't are still going to know you bought the X. You might as well keep it. Taking it off makes it look like you're ashamed of it or something and frankly being ashamed of a sticker (to me) says you place too much importance on what other people think.

Now if it's purely about wanting to put some other sticker that you like better in that spot I can see it. But personally I wouldn't put a JK sticker on mine just because I'm worried about what other people think about my "X" sticker. "F" em, it's your jeep, who cares what they think. It's just a sticker and if people think less of you for having an X sticker on your Jeep then you my friend are in the company of snobs.

 

I don't think it is a matter of hiding the fact that it is an X, or worrying about what others think, so much as it is simply a case of not liking the sticker. I don't like it, not because it means I have a low level Jeep (when I am done, it will be better than any off-the-lot Rubi!), but because I don't like the fact that they call it the "X." It just makes me think they were trying to keep it "hip and cool" when they chose that name and placed the big, fat "X" sticker on the side.

Also, my Jeep is black, my rims are black, my tires are blackwalls out, and soon my lights will be blacked out. It is part of the look I am going for, and I don't want the stickers throwing it off. I am more than likely going to remove my "Wrangler" sticker as well soon.
