That thing looks like it'd be right at home in an old Vanilla Ice video... I can picture it now:
"Rollin', in my 3.8,
Get no love from the Jeepers,
Yo, all's they do is hate!
Word to your mother."

I don't think that the sport has anything to do with it. It's the weird, freaky attitude of celebrities to do crazy stuff and think everyone else approves. The sad part are those who follow along just because some celebrity does it. Folks should learn to follow their own drumbeat. If anyone likes this JK, fine. I don't. I saw it a couple weeks ago, as I described earlier, and it looks weird and freaky. Exactly what I'd expect a celebrity to do with a JK. This doesn't mean that all celebrities would do this to a JK. But, the Paul Newman's of the world are far and few between.
BTW, Hemmingway (or whoever said it, since Papa may actually not have) had it right: “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.”

It looks like a doily-you know- the white thing your grandma placed under her candy dish on the coffee table. I admire his courage to drive it but what the hell if he's driving a Jeep we'd cut him a little slack....wouldn't we?
