Sorry about the price hike over there.... but... can you confirm a rumor I've heard? I heard that you can buy the JK with a diesel engine across the pond? Is this true?

man. must be some serious duty / taxes / shipping / excise / and any other crazy arse tax tax tax they can add to the sticker. that's alot of bread! good jeezus. i dunno if i'd have bought one if that was the sticker price here! maybe the diesel model makes it that pricey. must be a lot of MB parts in that diesel CRD to make it that much!

mine is a 2.8 CRD Diesel engine, but the list price difference is very negligable (about $2000 tops more for the diesel)
only the Rubicon comes in a 3.8 petrol here, and its only a 2dr too
there is no X either, just:
Sport 2dr/4dr Diesels
Sahara 2dr/4dr Diesels
Rubicon 2dr Petrol
But from my dealer experiences they will not push the Rubicon due to the MPG and road tax angles being higher - granted I think the road tax on the diesel is £405 a year with its CO2g/km rating as its a pretty bad polluter
I was thinking about this last night and a decent model Ford Focus or Honda Civic, is easily more than £14000, with base models coming in at around the £12k mark
