This Jeep owner probably should have checked the tide report.

Even if he had made it back, the salt water would do a bad number on the frame and suspension of that jeep. This guy should never be ride anything other than a pair of roller skates ever again.

Not entirely true. I've got salt water sprayed under my jeep. It's just fine.

after superstorm Sandy, I drove my JKU through flooded neighborhoods in Point Pleasant. The water was from the ocean. Probably drove through whole neighborhoods with 24 - 30 inches of standing seawater. That was 2.5 yrs ago. I ran a sprinkler under my jeep when I got home to get the saltwater off. All is still fine. I have some rust on the welds of the gas tank skid plate, but that is normal for our area.

Default You Mean doing this??

First of all you try to walk the area you going to drive in first when you do beach stuff. There could be a under toe shelf that could drop 3 or 4 feet down so you know where to drive. 2nd Get a snorkel. 3rd have a winch and a buddy on the beach who can recover you if Sh*t hits the fan.

I'v driven in salt water on the beaches many times. Best thing to do after is to take it into a fresh water body like a stream then take it home and spray it down good then put the lawn sprinkler under it for an hour.

My under carriage has no rust except on the Driveshafts.

My 2013 has never even been in a state that touches the ocean and my entire undercarriage is rustier than a lot of 10 year old trucks I have at work :(

it is called 'FluidFilm' , csn be found w/ nominal GoogleFu, can be sent to your home , is not expensive and you'll finally learn what is being said when the old adage ," an ounce of prevention ..." cliche is used.
Or, keep using un-smily face emoticons as tho it's not preventable or that it's the rust's fault or maybe ya just don't care.
