.
RUBI, dana 44 FRONT and rear (which will handle 37'S), lockers ( which have not failed yet) elec. disco.(which has not failed yet)4:10 gears (for when you do go to 35's). People break all that stuff because they don't know how to stay off the gas!!!!! I've been rock crawling and trail riding and have never had to "power out" of anything. Lets face it unless you are running King of the Hammers, striaght from the factory all jeeps are good, a rubicon is the best thing out there. I love my jeep and will take it anywhere and if it gets stuck break out the winch, that's what they are for.

(just to comment: the german manufacturer is Bilstein )

It also depends on where you'll be using the Jeep. The lower gearing in the Rubicons transfer case isn't as good when you'll need some wheel speed (mud, snow, sand)
I bought a Sport and am using the 10k I saved over a Rubicon to build it the way I want.

I have a Sahara and I am pleased with my base foundation. Like anything else I will and have already started changing stuff. I went with the Sahara because it fell somewhere in the middle of what I could afford at the time. I will make it mine and eventually have it exactly how I like it (yeah like that will ever happen, there's always something to mod).
Anyway, the Rubi is a great platform out of the box and offers a lot of stuff that requires money, time, and if you are like me, convincing the wife you need to spend the family's vacation money on a mods. If you can afford a Rubi now and you don't want to deal with modding a jeep go ahead and get one and enjoy it. If you don't have the coin and one of the other platforms suit you better go that route and enjoy it.
I have been up and down these forums and I have seen some bad ass Sports, X's, Sahara's, and Rubicon's. At the end of the day all that's important is that you have a Jeep sitting in your drive way.
There is always something to mod on our Jeep's so it will never end regardless of the model, so go out and get one and post some pics already!
Let the modding begin!

for me i dont want a rubi. depends on what YOU want. if you feel the need for a 44 in the front then well prob better off getting it. i would rather build my own jeep then pay stealership for crap thats overpriced

All I can say is that I LOVE My Rubicon and the plans I have set in motion to mod it to where I want to be happy with it. Not everyone has the same ideas or wants. All I know is I don't have the ability or tools to do axle swaps, change gearing or add lockers without PAYING someone else to do it for me. So now with my Rubi I have all those upgrades with a factory warranty to boot for whatever that is worth.

If you plan to buy it and then sell/trade in 5 or less years, I would go the Rubicon route as you will get where you want to end up faster and lose less on the resale.
If you plan to own it for the life of the vehicle I would go with the X and do it up the way you want it!!
I don't really see a bad option, you're getting a Jeep!
