Default Would You Buy

A local advance auto is closing in my area and I just stocked up on oil, filters and cleaning supplies....it was all 75% off. The question I have is this...I need a torque wrench for the jk and have always been a fan of craftsman. They had 2 wrenchs both made by performance one was 50 bucks and torqued from 30-250 ftlbs the other was 30 buck and was from 10-150. Both are 40% off the price I just gave you. If you were me would you buy one of these are spend a little more and get name brand. This wrench will only be used to torque suspension on the jk.

If it were me, I'd get em both! If you can't afford both, get the one for 10-150, you'll use that one more. Oh that's a really cheap price, make sure it's for ft lbs and not in lbs.

Just so you know , the majority of my tools, 90% are Craftsman, torque wrench included.

I love my craftsman digital Torque Wrench, I keep it calibrated and clean in its case at all times, but I did break down and buy one of those cheap PowerBuilt ones to keep in the jeep. I wouldnt use it for engine or tranny work, but it is nice to have on the trail to re-torque suspension compnents and such. I say get them both!!!

Go for it! I use torque wrenches infrequently and have been loath to spend a lot of $$ to get a set. Getting in the ballpark of the correct torque is good enough. Does not need to be exact. Craftsman is better but too expensive. You will not regret it.

Good advice here. Personally I love my Snap On 50-150, but this is a good deal.

Get both you won't regret having them both and not using them as frequent as a nascar mechanic, compared to not having them and wishing you had the nascar mechanics !!! Lol

One thing I learned the hard way about Craftsman, not all of their tools are covered for free replacement if broken.

I have both a Craftsman torque wrench (ratchet style) and the other with the needle and meter. I paid about $70 for the nice ratchet one and broke the adjustable handle putting a bumper back on one of my older jeeps--that one is not covered, but the cheap $20 needle / meter one is.

Since then, I'm not too devoted to Craftsman, and would definitely consider the deals you're looking at.
