Default Wooo!! Insurance finally came through.

So a little over a month ago I fell victim to road rage. Basically, an older man became Irate when I signaled left on the highway to pass a semi, pulled in front of him (with more than enough space to do so), and then signaled right after I passed the semi. This pissed him off because, well, no one knows.

He then proceeded to fly past me, cut me off by about a half a car length, and then slam on his brakes, at 65mph... To say the least, I hit him. Nothing major, the Jeep got a few marks in the front bumper from his rear bumper. He was later cited for reckless driving thanks to a good person who witnessed it and backed my side of the story.

This guy, who, again, was cited at the scene for reckless driving, then attempted to file a claim against me.

Today, my insurance finally called and said they had received all the information, and he was found 100% at fault, and I will now be getting a new OEM bumper ( I've had thos for 6 weeks, its a 14 and is stock so...)

I am just glad that this ordeal is finally almost done with.

Theres no more damage than I might be liable to do off road, so I was not willing to pay or use my own insurance to repair this oem bumper. Since he will be covering 100% of this and my rental, and I get my old OEM back, Ill take it. (and hopefully be able to ebay one for enough to get me the stubby winch mount I want.

Glad to hear it panned out for you. Most the time a rear ender is cut and dried, but thanks to eye witness'

No he stopped. I rear ended him because he cut me off and slammed on his brakes. He stopped because he figured he could get $ from me as I did rear end him. He didn't account for a witness to back up my story. He ended up getting cited at the scene for reckless driving.

Not really sure why he thought he could claim against my insurance after he got cited, but he did. I was going to play nice and just let my bumper be, the reckless driving ticket isnt a small fine. But since he claimed against me, and lost, now he gets to buy me a bumper.

Its on the list but my insurance requires me to get it repaired to its current spec (yeah). But they are giving me back my original bumper as well, so I will have 2 OEM fronts, one new, one with minor damage, and hopefully ebay will be my friend and I will have enough to get the stubby winch mount I want.

Tell the adjuster you are not sure what shop you are going to use and just cut you a check, I just walked with 3500 for hail damage, aftermarket hood on Amazon, cowl from dealer and paint less dent repair from a independent and I came out 1500$ ahead.
